THE BOSTON GLOBE

Featured location in "15 perfect summer days for 15 Cape Cod towns"

"Chillingsworth Restaurant (2449 Main St., 508-896-3640) is an institution for haute French dining, but you can also relax with casual bistro fare in the greenhouse area called Chill’s Bistro and Bar. Lighter fare includes panko-crusted fried oysters, lobster bisque, or the warm crab crepe with a garlicky tomato sauce.'

GAYOT

2013 Chillingsworth Fine Dining Restaurant Review by the American counterpart of one of the most esteemed French restaurant guides, Gault et Millau

Visitors flock to Cape Cod every year for the sun, the sand and the restaurants. Every town on the Cape boasts at least one fine dining destination, but among the myriad of choices, Chillingsworth is the king. Set in a sprawling 300-year-old estate, Chillingsworth attracts food lovers from across New England. The dining room offers a seven-course set menu of French-inspired cuisine blended with New England, Californian and Asian influences. Think seafood sausage with local sea beans, marinated quail with truffle risotto, tenderloin of beef with foie gras butter, and raspberry soufflé to finish. It is actually a maze of intimate, adjoining rooms, appointed with New England antiques and an atmosphere of luxury. The wine list is one of the Cape’s finest. The restaurant also offers a comfortable bar and lounge for those who wish to relax with a drink before or after dinner as well as a pastry shop filled with take-home treats.
