Chillingsworth,
is housed on the 300 year-old Chillingsworth Foster
estate (Listed on the National Historic Register) in the beautiful, historic and quaint town of
Brewster. Set among six acres of lawns and gardens,
it has been the Cape's premier restaurant for more
than thirty years. The estate is also home to three lovely
Guestrooms.
There is a second restaurant on the premises, located in the greenhouse and gallery adjacent to the bar, “CHILLS BISTRO” is run from a separate kitchen: a totally different venue from the internationally acclaimed Fine Dining Chillingsworth. With an a la carte menu, it is a family friendly, & very casual dining experience, often boisterous: steaks, chops, grilled fish, pasta & pizzas, with salads and rustic house-made desserts.
Additionally the bistro is now offering a $25 3-course special for those seated by 6pm.
The Bar has its own small plated menu as well as an “Appy Hour" from 4 -5:30 with specially priced appetizers. Through the evening in the bar one can order from the small plates menu or the Chills Bistro menu. Reservations are not accepted in the bar but there is a great camaraderie among the patrons. Killer cocktails and a large list of beers & wines by the glass.
Not well known are the guests rooms. Lodged above the restaurant in the historic part of the building, they are a perfect weekend getaway, or overnight for a special event. Wine & cheese in the afternoon of your arrival, continental breakfast and a private beach just steps down the lane. See our "Guestrooms”
Boston
Magazine says Chillingsworth… "is
home to one of the most enchanting dining experiences
in all of New England…in a dining room
teeming with antiques, fresh flowers and ultra
smooth service. Chillingsworth charms with the
luscious richness of French cuisine mixed with
a soupcon of brighter, lighter flavors”

Chillingsworth
has been selected as one of the Top 40 Restaurants
in America by Gayot.com. From
Gayot:
"Eating
out on Cape Cod has largely been a matter of which
dockside seafood house you prefer, with legions of
lobster shacks and places claiming to have the best
clam chowder in New England. But there has been a
marked change for better and better food over the
years, led by Chillingsworth. Set in a sprawling
300-year-old structure spread over six acres, this
is a major gourmet destination, maintained by owners
Pat and Nitzi Rabin, who close the place from December
1 to Mother's Day and move to Mexico, where they
run a vacation home named Casa Blanca. The place
has a fine antique charm in the main dining room
that is counterpointed by a modern, bright bistro
on the premises. Nitzi is the chef here and he offers
sumptuous French and American cuisine in seven-course
dinners or in the lighter à la carte menu.
Seared line-caught cod comes with jicama, apple,
sea beans, bacon, and cream with chervil--the very
essence of sublimated New England fare, while jumbo
squash and mascarpone are the filling for ravioli
with pork loin in a Beaujolais-and-rosemary pork
reduction. The precision of French pastry is demonstrated
in a textbook example of a chocolate pyramide with
fruit and in three impeccably creamy crèmes
brûlées."
