It's Officially Fall now although here it still feels like Summer: I hope you can enjoy some of the glorious Cape weather...
We survived Irene but lost power and cancelled some events, including our Pink Luncheon. Our Guest Hostess, Amy Reilly; her Mom; a teaching chef from the French Culinary Institute: and cookbook author of “Kiss My Bundt” from L.A., were all in town for the Pink lunch so we hunkered down at our house for a sleep-over/cook-out and ad hoc cooking classes while the storm raged. We are now on Fall hours in both restaurants:
Chillingsworth: is now open Friday & Saturday nights.
Chills Bistro is closed on Mondays but open Tues-Sun.
The Bistro continues to offer a Special 3 Course Dinner Menu for $25
Sunday Brunch: continues in the greenhouse & patio as weather permits. On Columbus Day weekend the schedules will reduce again somewhat.
Restaurant Week: We will again participate in Cape Cod restaurant week Oct. 10th -16th. 3 Course Special Dinner Menu for $25 through the week.
The Game Dinner, Saturday October 15th
This very popular homage to the Fall is already filling up!!
This year’s dinner will feature the Matanzas Creek Winery. Their history parallels ours: started in 1977 “it revolutionized the wine industry and now stands at the forefront of California viticulture.” Their own description says “ they stand at the crossroads between sophistication & simplicity”, combining the best of both rustic charm & refined quality”
This fabulous winery has the depth and quality to offer a spectrum of award winning wines to complement the various game courses: from their newly released Sauvignon Blanc, through Chardonnays for the seafood courses, to the full bodied reds: Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignons, Merlots & Syrah. The kitchen is researching the game available & will pair these wines to the menu offered.
Matanzas Creek has as well, magnificent Lavender gardens and provides culinary products such as sea salt, tea, Herbs de Provence, Lavender essence, all of which fit beautifully with this fall menu. Do look at the website to appreciate the breadth of their offerings, and the beauty of the winery. We are delighted to have them on board for the dinner.
As always we will begin with hors d’oeuvres @ 6:30 and move into the dining rooms for the multi-course course menu with pairings for each course. Hors d’oeuvres, Dinner, Wines, Tax & Gratuities inclusive @$135, a bargain….

Beaujolais Nouveau: Saturday November 19th
Celebrate the harvest and renewal of the seasons. This is a casual, fun event featuring a classic/rustic French menu. The fires will be lit and we will begin @ 6:30 with country hors d’oeuvres and a white Beaujolais… the nouveau will be ceremoniously opened and poured with the first courses and we will then move on to more refined wines from the region.
Previous menus have offered seafood stews, cassoulets, roasts, Short Ribs, Osso Bucca, tart tatins; a wide variety of classic dishes from the French countryside.
This is priced at $115 per person, again, inclusive. There will be menu thoughts posted on our Facebook page closer to the event, please check.
Thanksgiving
Our most popular day with families of 3 generations gathering for family dinners, and many annual visitors joining us once again.
We set up a complimentary buffet of pates, smoked fish & cheeses, nuts & olives, then offering a classic Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings in multiple choices plus a modern twist on many offerings. For the non-traditionalist, there is Lobster, Tenderloin, Duck and numerous other menu items. Child’s pricing for those 10 and under is available. Close-out wine specials will be offered.
Normal menu pricing will be in effect but will include the hors d’oeuvres buffet.
There are two seatings: 2/2:30 & 5/5:30
We will be open the Friday & Saturday evenings following, with “Close out Specials” to finish the year!! Plan to join us for a farewell dinner.
We accept special orders in advance for Thanksgiving take-out, a popular option for those who wish to dine at home without all the hassle. Please inquire.
Inn Rooms!! Still available and a wonderful destination for warm fall weekends, for our event dinners, or housing your extra guests, Wine and cheese upon arrival, continental breakfast, WIFI, Cable TV and a private beach down the street, a lovely stroll. Reserve in advance.
The Pastry Shop is closed due to our pastry chef’s illness. We are, however, accepting special orders with 48hr advance notice…breads, croissants, desserts, THANKSGIVING pies & etc. (these should be ordered a week ahead).
